Its Taper time

Final jog before the Marathon.

Just 3 miles, supposeedto be quite slow but went a bit fast - felt ok.
Didn't feel as if I would be able to do another 23miles when I finished.

Probably ready for the day now.
A bit worried that we seem to be getting a mini heatwave, but fingers crossed.

Expo

Went up to London today to collect running number.

Briefly - it went like this ........

Pick up Daughter from college,
Drive to Woking,
Pay £5 to park - then realise it won't cover the time required,
Have to buy another new ticket for £7.50 to cover the time required,

Train to Waterloo - getting off, the sliding doors shut on my head.
Underground and DLR to Excel Expo.
Shauna gets lots of free stuff posing as runner.
I get free beer.

Back to Waterloo.
Buy burgers costing £10.38, pay with £11, get £8.55 change - take food and leave quickly.

Eat in Jubilee Gardens, sitting in the sunshine.
A bit of site seeing.

Train and car back home.

Cough and wheeze

I've had a really chesty cough since Sunday and have been unable to run.
Thats a break of 5 days.

Its Wed today and I had to venture out.
4.5miles over the woods nice and steady.
I really enjoyed it, saw plenty of squirrels, rabbits and 3 dear. Thank god I didn't take the dog as I wouldn't have got very far without loosing her.

Chest was a bit tight but not too bad.
I'll keep taking the medicine!

Bagshot Bike

Ran to Bagshot and back with Shannon on her bike.

Quite quick - as Shannon was always upfront, but nice run.

Dover Break

Went to Dover for a long weekend this Easter.

Legs still a bit tired after Fleet, but some lovely flat areas to jog.
Took in one run along Shakespear beach which was hard work.

4 runs in 5 days
totalling 17.5m all pretty easy stuff but nice.
Shannon cycled with me a couple of times as well.

Friday I took everyone to Brands Hatch to watch a bit of the Bikes in free practice - rained all the time though.

Only day I didn't run was on the bank holiday Monday when I went to Brands to watch the BSB racing.

Nice weekend.

found the pace good and reasonably easy to maintain once I remembered how to run a bit faster.

Slow Trouble

All my training has been done at a slow steady pace - building stamina and mileage.

Trouble is I'll end up struggling to do the marathon in under 5hrs.

This sunday I'll try and do a 2hr half and see how it goes.

4.5m quite fast - for me

Lack of Enthusiasm

I am still jogging 2 or 3 times a week, I just can't be bothered to blog much.

Everytime I log on I seem to end up on facebook - usually wasting my time on silly games.

Did some hill training today.
Jogged to Gibbet Lane, then ran up as fast as I could, jog down to recover.
about 6 times and I was spent.

Good workout

Goal Achieved : )

and so back to work.

Over the last 3 weeks I've managed to run 1 mile for each alcoholic drink I've had.
Thats not bad seeing as it covered a family wedding, xmas and new year.

I reckon about 30 to 35 miles with equal drinks.

Ice run

Very cold today.
Went for a run at 12:30ish as it was at its warmest all day, about +2C.

7.1m
1hr 8mins

cold but a nice run, lower calves a bit tight.
